Race 1
The huge drop for THUNDER SQUALL is a red flag for me. This horse has never fared well at Calder and although Colazzo is strong with double droppers, I think it's an even money proposition that this one is broken down. I'll look to Mr. Colazzo's other runner, HALO'S INVESTMENT, as the only closing kick in a race that is sure to be pretty well contested up front.

Race 2
All systems are go for NEW LIMITS as he drops down for Ziade, gets the blinkers and makes his second start at two turns. The son of Grand Slam is built for a mile run and they're not gonna get him today.
The bet: $30 WP #7

Race 3
The step up the ladder will help our odds quite a bit with PENNANT DANCER but this is a filly with room to improve off the debut. The extra furlong will only help her as will the addition of Toribio.
The bet: $20 WP #9

Race 4
FLEET PAMPLONA just missed against similar in last and draws well here, gets Aguilar, and should have a good pace to run into.

Race 5
It's hard to ignore the form FORMAT is showing right now and Canet is certainly very hot but the value won't be there. I'm looking for a good price on PITCH A PENNY coming from the equally sizzling Kirk Ziade barn. She's got a bullet in her pocket and the bug boy up so we might see her show something today at 7-1 or better.

Race 6
Anyone who's read my posts knows I'm drawn to first timers trained by Harold Schultz. We've got a sneaky one here that debuts with lasix in MANAKA. I also like the workouts of HAZINESS and can't leave him out.

thanks for posting- i like the #1 horse, in the seventh, iowa's image- not the classiest mare in the race, but she looks like she's getting good right now...
